In the 1980s, beloved local businessman and philanthropist Al Potvin purchased this 20+ acre property for his company, Hilan Play Structures. For decades, Al and his wife Barb generously opened their land to the community:
Maintained trails for hikers and dog walkers.
Offered compost soil collected from community leaves.
Hosted Winter Solstice celebrations with bonfires.
Sold 8,000 trees through a community tree program.
Planted sunflower fields for everyone to enjoy.
Today, Hilan Village honours this legacy. This community aims to connect future residents to the traditions of giving back, community belonging, and living close to nature.
