Our Story

Westview Homes logo with the word 'Westview' in large blue text, with 'HOMES' in smaller blue text beneath it.

Westview Homes was born from a passion for building and a desire to expand our expertise to benefit more communities.

Founded by the team behind Westview Projects, we bring decades of experience in institutional, commercial, and multi-residential construction to the residential space. With a strong foundation in construction management and a reputation for integrity, quality, and service, expanding into building homes felt like a natural next step.

We’re here to create lasting, design-forward communities that reflect how people actually live, from urban infill projects in walkable neighbourhoods to thoughtfully
planned subdivisions that avoid the “vinyl village” feel.

History of the Property

A garden with bright yellow and red sunflowers along a grassy path, surrounded by greenery and trees under a clear blue sky with some pink clouds.

Hilan Village is set on land that has long been an important part of everyday life in Almonte.

Before becoming a new riverside neighbourhood, this property was owned by respected local community leader Al Potvin, whose generosity and community spirit left a lasting impression on the town. Al opened the land for others to enjoy—a place where people could gather, explore, and connect with the river.Together, Al and his wife Barb founded Hilan, a play structure company that went on to build more than 1,000 playgrounds for communities across North America.

The name Hilan Village pays tribute to this legacy. The sunflower featured in the logo is a direct nod to the fields Al planted each year—a symbol of warmth, renewal, and generosity. It’s a reminder that this place has always been about more than just land—it’s about people, connection, and community.
